Strike a pose

No news again today.  Adoptions speed up and slow down all the time, well mostly they slow down.  Right now is that time.  Not too long ago LOA's were coming quickly, now they aren't coming at all.     We are ready for them to come home.  When we get LOA things will move quicker but we don't know when it will come.  It could be tomorrow and it could be two more months away.

Praying it is closer to tomorrow.  Satan is messing with us again so I have a feeling it will be soon.  There has to be some good news around the corner that he is trying to mess up.  So thankful God is on our side.  I also know he will guard our girls' hearts while they wait.  I will just keep handing it all over to God and watch him handle it!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Birthday to a wonderful dad to many!  Hard to believe that 4 years ago you were the father of 4 and we thought our family was complete!  I will never forget the night we went out and I talked to you about adopting.   Almost a year later to the date you were holding Mia in your arms for the first time!
Suddenly you were the father to 5!

And the father daughter dances began.  The first and second of many to come!  The girls look forward to it like it is prom!

We both knew after walking out of the orphanage we had to do more.  A year and a half later you were holding Max in your arms for the first time!

Then you were the father to 6!

Another father daughter dance and the last where you will only take two girls.  Can you believe next year you will have 5 daughters home and old enough to go with you?!

Then you saw Molly's face.  I sent her your picture and story telling you I thought a friend should adopt her.  I don't remember how many times you called that day to talk about her.  Her story and that beautiful face grabbed at your heart the moment you saw her.

But God wasn't done and knew there was one more girl that needed a daddy and again you said yes!

In a few months we will be on our way to bring these two girls home!  You are a great dad and all of our children are very blessed to call you their dad.  Thanks for taking that leap of faith with me to be a father to the fatherless!

Tired

Meilin wants you to know that she is tired of the adoption taking so long and she is mad that two packages her mommy sent her got lost between here and China!
I completely agree with both!

Happy Birthday Meilin!

Right now in China it is almost 8 am.  Meilin is probably waking up and today is a very special day for her.  It is her 5th birthday!  As much as I remind myself that today is just another day, and we have a lifetime of birthday's to spend with her, my heart still breaks a little that I am not with her today to celebrate.  The thing that eases my heart is that she is in a wonderful place that will celebrate with her and lives with a loving foster home.
She is so adorable!

Her 4th birthday.

The difference this year it that she can tell her friends she has a family.   This birthday, her 5th birthday, is the last birthday she will spend as an orphan.

Happy 5th birthday Meilin.  We love you so much and can't wait until you are home!

Waiting

There are no updates on our adoption.  We are still waiting on our letter of acceptance.  China has updated their computer system so it seems no one has gotten LOA in the last couple of weeks.  It seems that slow downs and delays are just a way of life in every adoption.  So we keep waiting to bring these two home.  It seems to get more real as each day passes and with that it makes it harder to wait to hold them in my arms.
We are going to be so blessed by these two though and I know they are totally worth the wait!  It also helps that they are both in great places which isn't usually the case.  But, these two are and they know they are loved and are being well cared for so that definitely helps!

Every where we go though and everything we do I picture them with us.  No matter how big or small and imagine what it will be like with two more.  I am pretty sure it will be busy, crazy and wonderful!  From what we know they are both such happy, wonderful girls with a great spirit.
Now just praying for God's timing in this adoption and for my heart as I wait to hold my girls in my arms!
